The project scope includes renovation of an existing master bath and dressing room and the redesign of a garden pergola at an architecturally significant residence. In the master bath, an existing exposed stone wall, part of the farmhouse vernacular, establishes a new palette of finishes including a slate mosaic tile floor, stone countertop and tub deck, subtle tile and paint colors and custom built-ins.
The existing corner sheet glass windows were replaced with mullioned windows in keeping with the rest of the house. The new tub is located below the windows, with views out to the woods of Fairmount Park. The shower is also placed to take advantage of the views. Built-ins in the adjacent dressing room maximize storage. The outdoor pergola for dining screens the new master bath windows from the terrace below.
